Why does ICE continue to not give the s/x ed curriculum to parents? #OCSB

In late September, the Institute for Catholic Education (run by OECTA, OAPCE, Liberal party member Roger Lawler et al) promised that much new material would be published in November. Are they waiting for Christmas eve? February? later? They were able to keep the Nov 20 date to present the material to Family Life educators from across the province. Yet, nothing online over a month later. Why?

ICE Early November

Will ICE be publishing the names of the writing staff and the “theologians” who did the theological review of the sex ed commentary? That is their standard practice on all previous curriculum resources (eg. 2013 Social Justice curriculum below)

ICE Social Justice Writers 2013   =========================

Whenever, the curriculum is published (Dec 26? Jan 1? June?), we will be using these recent resources from the USCCB to analyze it to see how smudged the “Catholic lens” is

Adult Tattoo Colouring Book at #OCSB “Learning Commons”

Why can’t Johnny read or write and wants to get a tattoo like Justin Trudeau when he turns 16?

Because, students at St Matthew’s library (“learning commons”) are using adult colouring books on tattoos. What a great spiritual way to spend Advent! This is the  “true, good, and beautiful”?

Spiritually dangerous WCCM “Christian” meditation has infiltrated #OCSB and other board

Ernie Christie WCCM OCSB

Ernie Christie “Coming Home – A Guide to Teaching Christian Meditation to Children” is a WCCM-published book

“My final seminar was in Ottawa where I met Janet and Steve from the Ottawa Catholic District Board. I worked with over thirty committed Principals, teachers, chaplains and parents in promoting CM with children. This was a most impressive, and motivated group and they really impressed me as we travelled the contemplative path for a whole day together. I know they will grow CM with children in Ottawa and I look forward to witnessing the growth of CM in schools in this district “

St Peter’s High, Yoga, Namaste and Heart Chakras #OCSB

More spiritual danger for OCSB children. This is gym class in the Chapel of St Peter’s

Namaste St Peter's

From the tweet: “Mrs. Hamilton’s Grade 9 Girls PhysEd class is de-stressing with yoga this morning. Namaste girls

Meaning of Namaste: http://www.yogajournal.com/article/beginners/the-meaning-of-quot-namaste-quot/

The gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra

To perform Namaste, we place the hands together at the heart charka, close the eyes, and bow the head. It can also be done by placing the hands together in front of the third eye, bowing the head, and then bringing the hands down to the heart

Heart Chakra: http://www.yogajournal.com/article/beginners/asanas-for-the-chakra-system/

Heart Chakra: If you notice that you are sitting with your head forward, shoulders rounded and your chest collapsed, it’s a good time to start practicing fourth chakra poses to give your heart some breathing space

Third Eye: This vision includes clairvoyance, telepathy, intuition, dreaming, imagination, and visualization.

St Joseph’s Fave Priest Richard Rohr and Anglican wafers . #ocsb

We have written before how #OCSB Mother church is St Joe’s (they love St Basil’s too). We have also written before about St Joe’s and their LGBT activism and other activities (they are basically anglican)

St Joe’s favourite priest is Richard Rohr. He is frequently quoted in St Joe’s “reflections” (pseudo homilies), his page long articles are frequenltly in St Joe’s bulletins, and the St Joe’s mens groups extensively use Rohr DVDs.

Now, we see Rohr at an Anglican/Episcopalian service where he not only receives anglican wafers, he also distributes them. This is 100% against Catholic Church teaching – not that that bothers Richard Rohr in the least.

#OCSB Holy Trinity and Euthanasia. Arsenic and Old Lace #ottnews

The Holy Trinity play will only increase support for euthanasia. Already, the associate director is calling murder “mercy killing” and judging actions based only on “good intentions”

We wonder how many more catholic students will support euthanasia after seeing this play. What next – a comedy on abortion?

What will the OCSB do to correct the implicit teaching of this play and to make sure all students deeply understand why euthanasia and “mercy killing” is MURDER and a great sin against God?

“But don’t be too hard on them – they are doing their best to do what’s right, said associate director and Grade 12 student Carl Cachero.“We have two old ladies and they feel bad for these old men who come to rent a room because they are lonely and they are old and they have no family, so as a mercy killing, they would poison them with some arsenic as a kind gesture, in their opinion,” said Cachero.

“They have good intentions.”

We don’t like NCR, but this article shows why something that was funny in the 1940s is no longer funny because of government support for euthanasia and killng old people.

From this website:

Arsenic and Old Lace has all the charm one could possibly expect from a movie that ends with two serial killers’ age-prejudiced euthanasia being successfully covered up by their dashing, young (positively-portrayed) relative who’s spent the entire plot racing against both time and an ethical justice system to frame his innocent younger brother for eleven murders. Arsenic and Old Lace is a surprisingly blatant, ultimately sick perversion of right and wrong, with just enough quaint moments and memorable one-liners

The one and only draw that Arsenic and Old Lace has as a movie is its attempt at humor, and Arsenic and Old Lace is the moral equivalent of a comedy movie about an abortion clinic or the death of Terri Schiavo.

Humble Om Yoga Teacher also on #OCSB Staff

We have warned against Yoga and how is leads to a spirituality that is not Catholic.

Jeffrey Grob, exorcist at the archdiocese of Chicago and a former doctoral student at Ottawa’s Saint Paul University, says an exorcist in a large, ethnically diverse diocese might get 100 calls a month, mostly from women. The callers complain of bad luck, or they hear or see things they believe are evil.

But those who think they are possessed usually aren’t, says Father Grob. He adds that people can sin with gusto, but it doesn’t mean demons are at fault. In fact, ordinary sinning doesn’t seem to interest demons much; they go for people reading horoscopes, playing around with New Age spiritualities, lonely, alienated kids getting into a Goth lifestyle, and especially anyone having a fun night with a Ouija board. Even that yoga class at the community centre might be suspect.

Exorcists talk about “opening a door” to the demonic, meaning that not everyone who reads their horoscope will tumble to the depths of hell, but that anything that loosens a Christian worldview loosens the soul.

Now, we see Claire Wilson of All Saints Kanata and her Humble Om website

What does Om mean?

In Hinduism, Om (also spelled Aum) is a Hindu sacred sound that is considered the greatest of all mantras. The syllable Om is composed of the three sounds a-u-m (in Sanskrit, the vowels a and u combine to become o) and the symbol’s threefold nature is central to its meaning. It represent several important triads:

– The three worlds – earth, atmosphere, and heaven
– The three major Hindu gods – Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva
– The three sacred Vedic scriptures – Rg, Yajur, and Sama

Perhaps, there is no coincidence that there is a Mindfulness room at ASH? Why go to chapel to be with Jesus?

More on mindfulness:

Interesting comment from a westerner who was a buddhist monk for 40 years:

“What is taught in the West is something that, as a Buddhist monk for 40 years, I would not bother to pass the time of day with. Something ripped out of its proper context, without the correct framework for practice is a travesty and you may just as well listen to a piece of music, drop a sedative or drink a glass of wine.
One other thing. It is damn insulting to take the central practice of Buddhism and then with the usual disrespect so rampant in the West to non-Christian religions, reduce it to a bubble gum practice, commercialize it and proceed to rip people off with fakery”

Types of Priests welcome at #OCSB Schools

We have written before about St Basil’s parish and how they are defacto Anglican with their heterodox views.

Priests are required to wear clerical dress. Yes, even after “Vatican II”:

But here we have an #OCSB school welcoming “Father Dan” (in a open dress shirt and slacks) nd from St Basil’s parish. What is this teaching the children??

[Pictures deleted as OCSB mistakenly tweeted it and a parent did not want a pic of their child on social media]

This is the OCSB Board chaplain (who always wears a business suit to Board meetings:

OCSB Board Chaplain No Clericals Ever

The types of priest MUCH less welcome at OCSB schools:

roman collar

I have heard from numerous priests who have been made to feel unwelcome in Catholic schools (except as a Sacrament factory to show up and do a quick mass with no/minimal direct interaction with the children (or to be “escorted” closely by the school “chaplain”

“Critical Thinking” at #OCSB . #ottnews

The OCSB like to brag about teaching “critical thinking”. In fact, they are not even close to teaching critical thinking. Critical thinking is not identical to teaching logic and logical fallacies, but it is huge component.

B is a member of the “Critical Thinking Consortium”. tc2.ca

A search for the word “logic” on the TC2 website turns up zero hits.

More info on what schools pass off as “critical thinking”:

Peter Kreeft on true Critical Thinking:

Tom Lickona  on how critical thinking should be taught:

With the lack of true  “critical thinking” and logic being taught, university students become mindless, emotion-filled “social justice warriors” (SJWs) worrying about micro-aggressions and safe spaces and shouting down anybody who wants to say anything that bursts their group-think bubble.

Ms. Valeriano, a 19-year-old sociology and women’s studies student, said later that she was happy Ms. Coulter was unable to speak the “hatred” she had planned to.

“On campus, we promise our students a safe and positive space,” she said. “And that’s not what (Coulter) brings.”

It is more accurate to say that children are being taught “Critical Theory” (from the Frankfurt School, Gramsci, Cultural Marxism etc)

Don’t be fooled by the propaganda from Wynne and OCSB that “critical thinking” is being taught to children!

#OCSB Bullying Anti-American Teacher refuses to apologize. #ottnews

A sad story from CTV:

The “apology” from the Board really says nothing. Can you even remember what it says 5 minutes after reading it? Seems to be more sad that they are losing student funding of $13K/yr

The Teacher won’t apologize and the Board won’t move the student. The teachers’ union (OECTA) protects the teacher and he/she goes on as normal with his/her Ontario government raise and signing bonus.

How about some restorative justice OCSB? How about some anti-bullying? How about some teaching of virtues TO the teachers? Or is it all just propaganda and drivel?

PS: Meanwhile, Saudi diplomats children are welcome. Do teachers talk about lashings and beheadings?
