Kinky Boots Field Trip

Lynise Reedy, a teacher in the Toronto Catholic District School Board, brought 90 students from Dante Alighieri Academy on the subway to see Kinky Boots. She felt that the show was perfect to teach her kids about issues such as diversity and acceptance. Her students agreed, and also shared her enthusiasm for the show.

This wouldn’t be happening if the Cardinal and Bishops stopped the Equity and Inclusive Education (EIE) Wynne plan from being implemented across the “Catholic” school boards in Ontario. EIE is across the curriculum and you cannot save your childrens`souls by withdrawing them from a day or two of sex ed

Admirable lessons of tolerance aside, the cross-dressing element will not be to every taste. A few instances of profane, rough and crude language, sympathetic portrayal of a transvestite character, some vulgar gestures, sensual onstage movements, men almost kissing backstage, and an implied premarital relationship. The USCCB Office for Film & Broadcasting classification is L — limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling.
